Description
Most people never had the honor or privilege to know him but my Grandfather was a true American hero. Unlike the icons and heroes of today- which consist mostly of celebrities and sports stars, my Grandfather, Donald Ray Williams, was the real thing. He joined the Army Air Force on June 16, 1944 at the age of 15 and flew 17 missions as a flight engineer during WWII. He proudly served his country for 26 years fighting in WWII, The Korean War, and The Vietnam War. He flew over 150 missions and was stationed at 24 bases in 6 different countries during that time. These items are most of what I have left of him along with a lot of great memories. When he died on October 31, 2010, these items were some of the treasures he held most dear to him and they are part of my fond memories.
This is a picture of my Grandparents. They went through a whole lot in their 50 years together but they stuck by each other and loved each other through it all. This image contains my Grandparent's wedding picture, my Grandmother's original wedding rings, earrings and necklace that she wore on her wedding day,a picture of my Grandfather around the time that he enlisted in the military (at the age of 15), his military issued 1940's survival vest, dog tags, an American Flag, and a rose which is symbolic of their love and loyalty to each other and this country and is part of my tribute to them.

Thanks James! I figured I'd play around with this "color select" thing too and I really like the effect. :)
